You can create, view, edit, and remove SKUs in GemIQ — one at a time or in bulk. SKUs link a unique identifier to each product image so you can track and organize your jewelry inventory more easily.
You have a GemIQ account with at least one image or product uploaded.
You know the SKU format your business uses (for example, RNG-001 for a ring).
Open GemIQ and go to the Gallery.
Select the image you want to assign a SKU to. - To assign the same SKU to multiple images at once, select more than one image before continuing.
Click Assign SKU.
A prompt window will appear. Enter your SKU.
Click Confirm.
Assigned SKUs are visible in two places inside GemIQ.
In the Gallery:
In the Products section:
Open the product details page for the item you want to update.
Locate the SKU field.
Enter your updated SKU in the field.
Click Save Product.
Use this when you need to unlink an image from a product or move it to a different SKU.
Open the product that contains the image you want to update.
Click Manage.
A window will appear showing all media files linked to the product.
Select the image you want to unlink or reassign. - To remove it from the product: click Unlink from Product.
To move it to a different SKU: click SKU and enter the new SKU.
Newly assigned SKUs appear on the image in the Gallery and on the product in the Products section.
Edited SKUs update immediately after you click Save Product.
Unlinked images are removed from the product but remain in your Gallery — they are not deleted.
Reassigned images move to the new SKU without being deleted.
SKU is not saving: Make sure you clicked Save Product after editing the SKU on the product details page.
Assign SKU button is not visible: Confirm that at least one image is selected in the Gallery before clicking.
Unlink option is greyed out or missing: The image may already be unlinked, or your account may not have the required permissions. Contact GemIQ support.
Bulk assignment applied the SKU to the wrong images: Deselect all images and reselect only the ones you want, then assign again.
Assigning the same SKU to unrelated products — use a consistent naming format such as category + number (for example, RNG-001, PEN-045).
Forgetting to click Save Product after editing a SKU from the product details page — changes will not be saved until you do.
Confusing disassociate with delete — unlinking an image from a product does not remove the image from your Gallery.
