Troubleshoot Video Recording Issues with GemCam and GemHub
Quick Answer
Video lagging, freezing, or failing to save is often caused by temporary application files, an outdated app version, or video settings that are too high for your computer's resources. To fix this, first try clearing the app's cache, then lower the video resolution. If the issue persists, reinstalling the GemHub ensures you have the latest performance updates.
Before You Start
Ensure your GemCam is connected to your computer.
Have the GemHub open.
Steps
Follow these steps in order, testing after each one to see if the issue is resolved.
1. Clear the App Cache
Clearing temporary files can resolve many performance issues without affecting your saved media.
In the GemHub, navigate to the menu bar.
Click Help, then select Troubleshooting.
Click Clear Cache & Local Data.
A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click to confirm, which will restart the GemHub.
Once the app reopens, try recording a new video.
2. Lower the Video Resolution
Recording in 4K or high resolution requires significant computer processing power. Lowering the resolution can often solve lagging and freezing.
In the GemHub, open GemCam Settings
