Hardware Adjustments#

The amount of light inside your GemLightbox directly affects your exposure. Adding or removing accessories is the quickest way to make a significant change before touching any software settings.

GemLightbox Max

  • Attach or detach the magnetic sparkle lights on the sides of the machine to increase or reduce light intensity

  • Place or remove LumiPanels at the opening to control how much light is trapped inside

  • Turn the rotating sparkle lights on the ceiling of the GemLightbox Max on or off by pressing the center button, or remove individual LEDs one at a time as they are magnetic

GemLightbox Pro

  • Attach or detach the magnetic sparkle lights on the sides of the machine

  • Keep or remove the front panel to control how much light is contained inside the machine

Software Adjustments#

  1. Tap the Camera icon to open the phone camera

  2. Uncheck Auto White Balance — this gives you manual control over your exposure settings

  3. Drag the Brightness slider left to lower or right to raise the exposure level until the image looks right

After adjusting your hardware accessories and dialing in the Brightness slider, your jewelry should be evenly exposed with accurate color and no blown-out highlights or dark shadows. If you're happy with the result, you can save these settings as a Custom Preset for future use.

Why does my background look grey instead of white? Your brightness may be set too low. Tap Auto-Adjust and the app will find the best settings automatically. Why do my images look overexposed?
