Press both side buttons simultaneously to unlock the camera's position.

Use 45° for loose gemstones to capture brilliance and facets.

Use 90° for front-facing shots of jewelry pieces.

Aim the camera directly at the jewelry piece. Confirm alignment using the live view on the camera screen.

2. Set the Correct Distance#

Keep GemCam within 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) of the jewelry. GemCam will auto-focus once correctly positioned.

3. Frame Your Shot#

Position GemCam so the jewelry fills approximately 70% of the frame. Adjust the distance from GemLightbox Pro based on jewelry size.

4. Choose Your Sparkle Light Setting#

GemCam includes two built-in lights:

Use lights individually or together.
Press the light button to cycle through three intensity levels.
Test combinations to find the setting that best suits your piece.

5. Configure Your Settings in the Control Panel#

Resolution: Set GemCam to its maximum available resolution.

Filter: Select the correct filter for your jewelry type.

6. Care for the Sparkle Lens#

GemCam comes with a pre-installed sparkle lens designed to maximize sparkle in jewelry and gemstone photography. The lens can be removed by unscrewing it from the camera module.

Dust: Do not touch the lens directly. Use an air blower or a clean microfiber cloth.
Liquid: Keep the lens away from moisture to prevent staining and blur.
Storage: Place GemCam in its case after every session to prevent damage.

Expected Result#

GemCam produces sharp, well-lit, detail-rich jewelry images with a clean white background. Images are saved as PNG or JPEG (average ~250 KB). Videos are saved as MP4 (average ~20 MB). File sizes vary based on resolution and subject detail. GemIQ automatically optimizes all files for e-commerce — no additional editing is needed.

If This Does Not Work#

Images are blurry: Confirm GemCam is within the recommended distance range and that the sparkle lens is clean.
Background is not white: Increase the brightness setting in the control panel.
Jewelry fills too little of the frame: Move GemCam closer, following the distance guide for your jewelry size.
Auto-focus is not locking: Ensure the jewelry is clean and well-lit, then reposition GemCam slightly.
Colors look off: Switch between White (5500K) and Yellow (3500K) Sparkle Light to better match your metal or stone type.
Lens appears dirty: Clean with an air blower or microfiber cloth before your next shoot.

Common Mistakes#

Touching the lens — always use an air blower or microfiber cloth, never fingers.
Wrong camera distance — shooting outside the recommended range causes blur or poor composition.
Fingerprints on jewelry — always wear gloves when handling pieces before a shoot.
Low resolution setting — always set GemCam to maximum resolution in the control panel.
Skipping filter selection — using the wrong filter affects color accuracy and background quality.
