Troubleshooting GemCam Connection and Power Issues
Quick Answer
If your GemCam is not turning on or is not detected by your computer, the issue is usually caused by a poor USB-C connection, a conflict with other camera devices, or a software setting in the GemHub. Following the steps below, from checking the physical connection to resetting the app, will resolve most detection problems.

Your GemCam
The USB-C cable provided with your GemCam
A computer with the GemHub installed
Steps
Check the Physical Connection. Ensure the USB-C cable is securely plugged into both the GemCam and a USB-C port on your computer. If you are using a USB hub, unplug the camera and connect it directly to your computer, as hubs can sometimes prevent the camera from receiving enough power.
Try a Different USB-C Port and Cable. If the direct connection doesn't work, try a different USB-C port on your computer. If you have another compatible, high-quality USB-C cable, test it to rule out a faulty cable.
Disable Other Cameras. Other webcams or virtual cameras can sometimes conflict with GemCam.
On Windows: Open Device Manager, find the list of cameras, right-click on any other cameras listed, and select Disable device.
On macOS: Check your System Settings (or System Preferences) for any applications that control cameras and disable them. After disabling other cameras, restart your computer and reconnect the GemCam.
