Connect & Capture
GemLightbox Max connects via Bluetooth; GemCam Pro via USB-C. With both online you can switch between phone capture (Max) and desktop capture (GemCam Pro) per piece.
The Switches at the Back
At the back of the GemLightbox Max, you'll find three switches that control the turntable:
Left switch — manual slow rotation
Center switch — App Mode (controlled via GemIQ app)
Right switch — manual fast rotation
Use App Mode when capturing through the GemIQ desktop app with the GemCam Pro. Switch to Slow or Fast for manual control, or when shooting with a DSLR.
How to Use the Turntables
The GemLightbox Max has two built-in turntables suited for different types of pieces.
Bottom Turntable For flat or structured pieces — rings, bracelets, and necklace sets displayed on the mannequin. Center your piece on the turntable. To find the center point accurately, open the lid and look from the top — there's a small dot that can be difficult to see from the front.
Top Turntable For dangling or hanging pieces — earrings, pendants, and watches. Attach the appropriate holder to the top turntable and secure your piece before shooting. The top turntable has three magnetic attachment points — one in the center for accessories like earring and necklace holders, and one on each side where you can attach GemClips to hold your jewelry.
To activate the turntable, simply press record on your GemIQ app.
Setting Up Your Rotating Sparkle Lights
Attach your magnetic Sparkle Lights to the ceiling of the GemLightbox Max in seconds. Just snap them onto the rotating sparkle light holder — the magnetic connection makes setup effortless. Use them to add motion-driven brilliance — ideal for diamonds, gemstones, and any piece you'd shoot in video.

Taking Photos and Videos
With the GemCam Pro connected to the GemIQ desktop app, you get access to higher resolution capture, GemCam Light Controls for adjusting the camera's built-in LED lighting, and a full desktop editing workflow — background removal, AI product descriptions, catalog creation, and one-click Shopify upload.
You can also use your phone with the GemIQ app for faster, everyday shooting whenever you don't need desktop-level control.
