  • You will need your GemLightbox and all the accessories from the box, including the power adapter and smartphone stand.

Steps#

  1. Unpack the unit: Remove the GemLightbox, power adapter, universal smartphone stand, and backgrounds from the packaging.

  2. Connect Power: Plug one end of the power adapter into a wall outlet and the other end into the power port on the back of the GemLightbox.

  3. Turn On the Light: Press the power button on the front of the GemLightbox. The internal lights will turn on.

  4. Place Jewelry Inside: Open the front cover. Place the included black or white background inside if you wish, then position your piece of jewelry in the center of the turntable.

  5. Position Your Smartphone: Assemble the smartphone stand and place your phone on it. Align your phone's camera with the front photography hole of the GemLightbox.

  6. Start Capturing: Open GemIQ on your smartphone to connect to the turntable (if applicable) and begin taking professional-quality photos and videos.

Expected Result#

Your GemLightbox will be powered on with its internal lights fully illuminated. You should see a clear, well-lit view of your jewelry through your smartphone's camera via the GemIQ, ready for you to capture images and videos.

If This Does Not Work#

If the GemLightbox does not turn on, check the following:

  • Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the wall outlet and the port on the GemLightbox.

  • Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it has power.

  • Make sure you have firmly pressed the power button on the front of the device.

Common Mistakes#

  • Forgetting to remove protective film: New units may have a thin protective film on the reflective interior walls. Be sure to peel this off for the best lighting results.

  • Not using the smartphone stand: Using the included stand ensures your phone remains stable, preventing blurry photos and providing a consistent angle for all your shots.
