Unlike diamonds and faceted gemstones, pearls are prized for their soft luster, also known as orient. This delicate glow comes from light reflecting and refracting through the pearl's layers, creating a subtle radiance rather than brilliant sparkle.
Because of this, pearls respond best to soft, diffused lighting.
Using additional sparkle lighting or strong directional light can:
Create harsh reflections on the pearl's surface.
Reduce the visibility of its natural luster.
Wash out subtle color variations.
Make the pearl appear overly bright or flat.
Recommended Settings

Turn off all lights.
Allow the GemLightbox's ambient lighting to illuminate the pearl naturally.
Ensure the pearl is in sharp focus before capturing.

Use the default lighting.
Do not install or turn on the Sparkle Lights.
Capture the pearl using the standard lighting setup for the most natural appearance.
