Step 01 · What's in the Box

Unpack your hardware

Make sure you have all the essential components before you begin.

Step 02 · App & Power

Install the app and connect power

The GemIQ app controls the Macro via Bluetooth. Make sure your phone is charged and the app is up to date.

  1. 1Download the latest version of the GemIQ app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. 2Connect the GemLightbox Macro to a power source using the included USB-C cord.
3

Step 03 · Hardware Setup

Mount your smartphone

Attach the stand and secure your phone. Proper alignment is key to a perfectly centered shot.

  1. 1Attach the smartphone stand to the GemLightbox Macro and remove the front cover.
  2. 2Loosen the holder, place your phone inside, and adjust its height until the camera lens aligns with the Macro lens.
  3. 3Push the width adjuster to grip your phone, then turn the lock clockwise to tighten.

Pro tip: Remove your smartphone's case before mounting it. This ensures a more secure fit and better camera alignment.

4

Step 04 · Stone Placement

Position your gemstone

Select the correct disc for your stone's size and place it carefully in the center to ensure smooth rotation for videos.

  1. 1Choose a disc: Small (<1ct), Medium (1-10ct), or Large (>10ct).
  2. 2Place the disc onto the metal stand inside the Macro and push down firmly to secure it.
  3. 3Place your loose stone directly on the small groove marking the disc's exact center.
5

Step 05 · Frame & Focus

Attach the lens and focus

Snap the macro lens onto your phone's camera and adjust its position until the facets are perfectly sharp.

  1. 1Clip the macro lens directly over your smartphone's main camera lens.
  2. 2Position the camera close to the stone, then slowly pull back until it snaps into focus.
  3. 3Use the stand's adjustment knobs to move the stone and fill the frame.

Pro tip: If your image is blurry, gently wipe your phone camera and the Macro lens with a clean microfiber cloth.
