Get started with your GemLightbox

This guide will walk you through setting up your GemLightbox for the first time. You'll be ready to capture studio-quality jewelry photos and videos in just a few minutes.

Step 01 · Unbox

Unpack your GemLightbox

Carefully remove your GemLightbox and all its accessories from the packaging. Check that you have all the items listed below.

Pro tip: New units may have a thin protective film on the reflective interior walls. Be sure to peel this off for the best lighting results.

Step 02 · Power up

Connect the power

Plug your GemLightbox into a wall outlet and press the power button on the front of the device. The internal lights will turn on.

  1. 1Plug one end of the power adapter into the port on the back of the GemLightbox.
  2. 2Plug the other end into a working wall outlet.
  3. 3Press the power button on the front of the device.
  4. 4Confirm the internal lights are fully illuminated.

Step 03 · Prepare

Place your jewelry inside

Open the front cover and place the black or white background inside. Position your piece of jewelry in the center of the turntable.

Step 04 · Position

Set up your smartphone

Assemble the universal smartphone stand and place your phone on it. Align your phone’s camera with the front photography hole of the GemLightbox.

Pro tip: Using the included stand ensures your phone remains stable, preventing blurry photos and providing a consistent angle for all your shots.

Step 05 · Capture

Open the GemIQ app

Make sure you have the GemIQ app installed on your smartphone. Open the app to see a clear, well-lit view of your jewelry, ready to capture.

You've completed the basic setup! Now you can explore different accessories like the Aerial for necklaces or the Eclipse for black background videos.
