Step 01 · What you'll need

Verify your components

Make sure you have the Eclipse accessory. You will also need your existing GemLightbox and GemLightbox Turntable.

2

Step 02 · Hardware Setup

Prepare the turntable

Before attaching the Eclipse, you'll need to power down your turntable and remove the standard white disc.

  1. 1Power off your GemLightbox Turntable.
  2. 2Remove the standard white disc from the top of the turntable base.
3

Step 03 · Hardware Setup

Attach the Eclipse cover

Place the GemLightbox Eclipse cover directly over the turntable base. It will lock into place magnetically.

Pro tip: If the Eclipse cover feels unstable, lift it and place it again to ensure it has properly seated on the turntable's magnets.

4

Step 04 · Software Setup

Connect to the GemIQ app

Open the GemIQ app on your smartphone or computer and connect to your GemLightbox. Ensure your turntable is powered back on for this step.

5

Step 05 · Software Setup

Enable the Eclipse filter

In the camera settings within the app, locate and toggle on the Eclipse filter. This step is essential to render the background as pure black.

Pro tip: Forgetting the filter is the most common mistake. If your background appears dark grey instead of pure black, double-check that this filter is enabled.

Step 06 · Final Touches

Position your jewelry

Use the sockets on the side of the Eclipse to gently lift the lid. Place your clean jewelry in the center of the surface, close the lid, and you're ready to shoot.

Pro tip: Any dust or fingerprints will be highly visible against the black background. Ensure your pieces are perfectly clean before shooting.
