This guide will take you from unboxing to your first studio-quality photo in about 5 minutes. Let's get your GemCam Pro connected and ready to capture.
Step 01 · Unbox
Open your GemCam Pro box and make sure you have all the necessary components to get started.
Pro tip: Use the included USB-C cable for a reliable connection. Some third-party cables are for charging only and do not support data transfer.
Step 02 · System Check
Before installing any software, ensure your computer meets the minimum requirements for the GemCam Pro to run smoothly.
Pro tip: For best performance, use a computer with an Apple M2 chip (or newer) or an Intel Core i7 processor. A wired Ethernet connection is more reliable than Wi-Fi.
Step 03 · Software
The GemIQ app is the control panel for your camera. You'll need to install it on your computer before connecting the GemCam Pro.
Step 04 · Connect
Plug the included USB-C cable into the back of the GemCam Pro, then connect the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
Pro tip: If the camera isn't detected later, try a different USB port on your computer and make sure the cable is securely connected on both ends.
Step 05 · Power On
First, open the GemIQ app on your computer. Then, press the power button on your GemCam Pro. The app will automatically detect the camera.
Step 06 · Capture
Place your jewelry on your photography surface. Use the Live View in the app to see a real-time preview and click the capture button.
Pro tip: Position the camera as close as possible to the jewelry, then slowly pull back until the item comes into perfect focus in the Live View.
Your GemCam Pro is connected and you can see a live video feed in the GemIQ app. All camera controls are now available for you to capture media.
